背景 | ADAMTS13 (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 13) is a secreted multi-domain zinc protease primarily produced by the liver. In the circulation, it is responsible for cleaving von Willebrand factor (vWF) between Tyr842 and Met843. Defects in ADAMTS13 activity result in the generation of ultra large vWF, leading to thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). The amino acid sequence of human ADAMTS13 in the region of aa 34 to 688 is 76% identical to that of mouse/rat. |
