| 背景 | Ameloblastin, also known as amelin and sheathlin, is a 66 kDa secretedtooth-specific glycoprotein. It is a major enamel matrix protein thatpromotes enamel formation in teeth. Ameloblastin is secreted primarilyby secretory ameloblasts. It is a cell adhesion molecule required foramelogenesis. In addition to the isoform used as immunogen, a secondvariant with a 15 aa insertion between Q113 and P114 (AAH 87927) isknown. The amino acid sequence of mature mouse ameloblastin is 96% and67% identical to that of rat and human ameloblastin, respectively. |
