背景 | Trefoil factor 2 (TFF2), also known as spasmolytic polypeptide (Sp) is a 20 kDa secreted trefoil factor family protein. It is a protease-resistant glycoprotein primarily produced by mucous-secreting cells of the stomach and duodenum and is upregulated in response to inflammation. TFF2 interacts with mucin and other TFF2-binding proteins to protect and repair mucosal epithelium. TFF2 is also expressed by macrophages and lymphocytes and may have a role in modulating immune system responses. The 106 residue mature human TFF2 contains two trefoil domains (aa 36-72 and aa 80-121) and one N-linked glycosylation site. Human TFF2 shares 71% and 87% aa sequence identity with canine and mouse TFF2, respectively. |

Detection of Human TFF2 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of human stomach tissue, human stomach cancer tissue, human breast tissue, and human kidney tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Human TFF2 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF4077) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF017). A specific band was detected for TFF2 at approximately 19-21 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1. |
