| 背景 | Osteocrin, also known as Musclin, is a secreted protein that isprimarily expressed in bone and muscle. It is synthesized as aproprotein that undergoes proteolytic processing to generate a mature50 amino acid C-terminal active peptide. It was found to modulateosteoblast differentiation and to regulate glucose metabolism inmuscles. Human Osteocrin proprotein shares 77% and 78% amino acidsequence identity with the rat and mouse protein, respectively. |
