背景 | CD46, also known as MCP, is a type I membrane protein that functions asa cofactor for Complement Factor I-mediated inactivation of complementcomponents C3b and C4b. CD46 is expressed in white blood cells,platelets, epithelial cells, and fibroblasts. The extracellular regionof CD46 contains four tandem Sushi domains. At least fourteentranscript variants encode isoforms with deletions or substitutionsfollowing the fourth Sushi domain. Within corresponding regions, humanCD46 shares 50% amino acid sequence identity with mouse and rat CD46. |
