背景	Integrin beta 4, also known as CD104, is a 200 kDa type I transmembrane (TM)glycoprotein that associates only with Integrin alpha 6/CD29. Integrin alpha 6 beta 4is predominantly expressed by epithelial cells, binds laminins, and isessential for formation of hemidesmosomes and connection of the dermisto the epidermis. Mouse integrin beta 4 contains a 680 amino acid (aa)extracellular domain (ECD) with a metal-binding site and fourcysteine-rich repeats, a 22 aa TM segment and an unusually long 1073 aacytoplasmic tail that organizes hemidesmosome components. Isoforms withshortened cytoplasmic tails have been described. Mouse and human beta 4 ECDshow 88% aa identity.

Detection of Mouse Integrin beta 4/CD104 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of mouse small intestine tissue. PVDF Membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL of Mouse Integrin beta 4/CD104 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB4054) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Rat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF005). A specific band was detected for Integrin beta 4/CD104 at approximately 180 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Detection of Integrin beta 4/CD104 in CMT-93 Mouse Cell Line by Flow Cytometry. CMT‑93 mouse rectal carcinoma cell line was stained with Mouse Integrin beta 4/CD104 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB4054, filled histogram) or isotype control antibody (Catalog # MAB006, open histogram), followed by Phycoerythrin-conjugated Anti-Rat IgG F(ab)₂ Secondary Antibody (Catalog # F0105B).
