背景 | GPR37-like receptor (GPR37L1), also known as endothelin B receptor-like protein 2 (ETBR-LP-2) and GPCR/CNS2, is an orphan G protein coupled-receptor (1,2,3). GPR37L1 and its closely related receptor, GPR37, are endothelin receptor-like GPCRs that are highly expressed in the central nervous system. GPR37L1 is broadly expressed in the brain and regulates multiple neuronal functions, including cerebellar development (4). Studies also indicate that GPR37L1 and GPR37 may be receptors for prosaposin and prosaptide. Peptide-dependent modulation of GPR37L1 activity may regulate neuronal and glial survival, as prosaposin is known to exert neuroprotective, neurotrophic, and gliotrophic actions. (5,6). |
