| 背景 | DEPTOR/DEPDC6 is a component of both mTORC1 and mTORC2 complexes (1). It interacts with mTOR and inhibits mTORC1 and mTORC2 kinase activities (1). mTOR, along with casein kinase I, phosphorylates DEPTOR/DEPDC6 in the presence of growth signals, which leads to the degradation of DEPTOR/DEPDC6 (2). Research studies have shown that transgenic mice overexpressing DEPTOR/DEPDC6 have more white adipose tissue, and DEPTOR/DEPDC6 expression levels increase in the white adipose tissue of obese humans (3). Furthermore, the expression of DEPTOR/DEPDC6 is induced during mouse adipocyte differentiation (3). Together these findings suggest that DEPTOR/DEPDC6 regulates adipogenesis (3). |
