| 描述 | Tetanus toxin is a neurotoxin produced by C. tetani that is taken up by presynaptic terminals at the neuromuscular junction.1 It travels retrogradely within motor neurons and is transported trans-synaptically to spinal cord interneurons.2 Tetanus toxin inhibits neurotransmitter release, cleaving a bond in vesicle-associated membrane protein-2 (VAMP-2) or synaptobrevin-2, thereby preventing the fusion of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic membrane.3 It preferentially blocks the release of glycine and GABA. |
