| 背景 | MAOB (Monoamine Oxidase B) is one of two neighboring mitochondrial enzyme family members which catalyze the oxidative deamination of amines, such as dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. The other member is MAOA. MAOB preferentially degrades benzylamine and phenylethylamine. MAOB catalyzes the oxidative deamination of biogenic and xenobiotic amines and plays an important role in the metabolism of neuroactive and vasoactive amines in the central nervous system and peripheral tissues. |
