| 背景 | IKKε–IκB Kinase-epsilon (also called IKKi) is a homolog of the IKK (IκB kinase) catalytic subunits IKKα and IKKβ. IKKε is primarily expressed in immune cells and is responsible for modulation of IRF-3 and NFκB (NFκB p50 and NFκB p65) activity in the immune system. IKKε is a noncanonical kinase that phosphorylates inhibitors of NFκB, thus leading to dissociation and subsequent degradation of the inhibitor from the NFκB complex. IKKε is an oncogene that is often amplified in breast cancer. IKKε also functions to protect cells against apoptosis resulting from the DNA damage response. |
