BRD8 is a member of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex, involved in the transcriptional activation of specific genes through the acetylation of histones H2A and H4. BRD8 contains two Bromodomains, a motif that has been demonstrated to facilitate interaction with acetylated histones. |

BRD8 / SMAP2 antibody (pAb) tested by ChIP-Seq. ChIP was performed using the ChIP-IT® High Sensitivity Kit (Cat. No. 53040) with 30 ug of chromatin from an adenocarcinoma cell line and 10 µl of antibody. ChIP DNA was sequenced on the Illumina HiSeq and 20 million sequence tags were mapped to identify BRD8 / SMAP2 binding sites. The image shows binding across a region of chromosome 9.
