| 背景 | Argonaute 4(Ago4, aka EIF2C4) is a member of the Argonaute family of proteins involved in RNAi mediated gene silencing through siRNA and miRNA effectors. The Argonaute proteins are part of RISC, the RNAi Induced Silencing Complex. Ago4 lacks RNase activity and does not appear to cleave target mRNA molecules. It binds to microRNAs (miRNAs) and represses the translation of mRNAs which are complementary to them. Ago4 has both a PAZ and a PIWI domain, indicative of the Argonaute family of proteins. |
